Hilary Duff: South of the Border Swimsuit Sexy

Enjoying a little fun in the sun, sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff took to the pool during their Mexico-based vacation earlier today (July 31).

Joined by her hockey-playing hubby Mike Comrie, the "Lizzie McGuire" actress splashed around in a black one piece suit while her "Napoleon Dynamite" star sibling opted for a daring low-cut number as she hopped in the water.

When the superstar sisters aren't on a luxe Mexican holiday, they like to spend their time in the kitchen - this according to Haylie's boyfriend, Nick Zano, who says the twosome's culinary skills can't be topped.

?The girls are really into cooking so most of the time it?s going from house to house. The hottest restaurant in our neighborhood is like whoever?s kitchen! It?s great," he told OK! magazine, adding, ?Haylie cooks everything. She is an amazing cook and Hilary is an amazing baker."

Adam Lambert's 'Whole Lotta Love': The Story Behind The Cover

Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off Led Zeppelin's 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again."

That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on "American Idol" rock night Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004.

The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album Led Zeppelin II. Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon.

For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997.

Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. A cornerstone of heavy rock, the tune -- which was the theme song for the long-running British countdown show "Top of the Pops" in the 1970s and '80s -- has been covered by dozens of artists over the years, from Tina Turner and Ben Harper to Prince, Slash, Leona Lewis, Train's Pat Monahan, the London Symphony Orchestra and Jane's Addiction.

Anna Kendrick's Sin City 26th Birthday Celebration

Getting an early start to her celebratory festivities, Anna Kendrick was the guest of honor at Vanity Nightclub at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday night (July 30).

The "Up In the Air" actress donned a black sleeveless top and dark jeans as she posed in the arrivals area before heading inside to be presented with a fabulous cake to commemorate her 26th birthday (which actually is on August 9th).

The Sin City soiree comes as Miss Kendrick readies to pair up with "Gossip Girl" hunk Chace Crawford in the Kirk Jones directed movie "What to Expect When You're Expecting".

The star-studded ensemble picture takes "a look at the lives of four couples as they prepare to become parents" while also boasting cast members such as Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Elizabeth Banks, Brooklyn Decker, Joe Manganiello, Matthew Morrison and Chris Rock.

Ashton Kutcher in New Two and a Half Men Promo

Ashton Kutcher in New Two and a Half Men Promo

Ashton Kutcher is fitting in just fine on the set of Two and a Half Men, as Charlie Sheen's replacement has taken his rightful place behind the show's familiar microphone. Fans of the show will recognize the set up of the new promotional poster, as Kutcher joins costars Jon Cryer and Angus T. Jones in front of the red curtain used in the original opening.

The biggest difference (besides the lack of Sheen and the addition of Kutcher)? Ashton moved into the middle spot where Jones used to stand, and the Men newcomer is sporting the red bowtie that once also belonged to his younger costar.

The revamped version of the CBS show premieres on Sept. 19, as the fate of Sheen's character has yet to be revealed. Recent reports speculate that he may be killed off. The details behind the appearance of Kutcher's character are also being kept under wraps.

Sheen was fired from Two and a Half Men, in March after a pretty public battle with the show's creator Chuck Lorre, and a bunch of questionable incidents that had plenty of people raising their eyebrows at Sheen's behavior. Sheen has now signed on to star in the new series Anger Management.

"I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."

'Crazy, Stupid Love,' 'The Smurfs,' 'Cowboys & Aliens' Reviews

'Crazy, Stupid Love,' 'The Smurfs,' 'Cowboys & Aliens' Reviews

Which movies are fun for the whole family and which ones are treats just for you? Find out!

In theaters now:

Crazy, Stupid, Love.
Short Story:
Fortysomething Cal Weaver (Steve Carell) is living the dream. He has a good job, married to his high school sweetheart, nice house. But everything falls apart when he finds out his wife Emily (Julianne Moore) cheated on him and wants a divorce. Having been out of the game, Cal doesn't know the first thing about dating so he is taken on as a wingman to handsome player Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling).

What They're Saying:
"It's a pleasure to come across the sharply funny and touching Crazy Stupid Love. It's a live one with a dream cast that keeps springing playful surprises." -- Rolling Stone

"Carell and Gosling, each willing to take his character to the point of caricature in order to find the truth in him, have a nicely barbed chemistry together." -- Village Voice

Good for Kids?
With an all-star cast and great reviews, this movie is not to be missed by mature teenagers and adults looking for a heartfelt film. But it's rated PG-13 and Common Sense Media says that the movie "deals head-on with some mature subjects, including infidelity and the art of seduction" and features a fair amount of "crass language" and "tame" sexual content -- so it's probably best to leave the little ones with a babysitter. Click here for the full Common Sense review!

Watch the preview!

The Smurfs
Short Story:
The Smurfs have landed in Central Park! When the evil wizard Gargamel (Hank Azaria) chases the Smurfs out of their village, they wander into a portal that instantly transports them to N.Y.C. They take shelter with Patrick and Grace Winslow (Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays) -- and get into plenty of shenanigans -- while they attempt to find a way back home before Garagamel finds them.

What They're Saying:
"The Smurfs may be blue, but their movie is decidedly green, recycling discarded bits from other celluloid Happy Meals like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield and Hop into something half animated, half live-action and all careful studio calculation." -- Entertainment Weekly

"Why does the villain Gargamel have a name that sounds like a sore-throat product? Why are there countless male Smurfs and only one female? (The mind boggles.) Why do they only know one song, and why is it so irritating? So many questions." -- Seattle Times

Good for Kids?
The classic Saturday morning cartoon is back! Parents will be able to take a walk down memory lane with their favorite blue Smurfs. Rated PG, this animated flick could be fun for the whole family: Even though it didn't receive rave reviews, Common Sense says adults should expects some laughs as well as enough goofy jokes for the kids. Click here for the full Common Sense review!

Watch the preview!

Cowboys & Aliens
Short Story:
In 1800s Arizona, Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig) wakes up with no memory and a shackle around his wrist. When he arrives in the town of Absolution, he learns he is a wanted criminal -- but when a spaceship attacks the town, he must team up with Col. Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford), the man who wants him behind bars, to defeat the aliens.

What They're Saying:
"What makes the movie work, really, is that above and beyond the conventions themselves doing their jobs, the actors seem truly invested..." -- MSN Movies

"Cowboys & Aliens is one of the silliest movies ever made, but so many otherwise serious people have attached their names to it that, as Arthur Miller wrote in Death of a Salesman, attention must be paid." -- New York Observer

Good for Kids?
What's a Western/sci-fi film without plenty of shootouts and explosions? With a PG-13 rating, Common Sense says to be prepared for lots of action and drinking in the town saloon. So, although this in the perfect film for teens and adults, it's best not to bring the wee ones. Click here for the full Common Sense review!

In case you missed:

Friends with Benefits
Short Story:
Dylan (Justin Timberlake) and Jamie (Mila Kunis) don't believe in Hollywood romantic-comedy clichés, so they decide to keep things simple... and be friends with benefits. Naturally, they soon discover that having a purely sexual relationship while remaining pals is a while lot more complicated than it seems.

What They're Saying:
"Friends With Benefits follows rom-com formulas as if directed on autopilot, but that's not to say it isn't fun." -- Chicago Sun-Times

"Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis make for engaging leads in this unexpectedly fresh R-rated comedy." -- The Hollywood Reporter

Good for Kids?
Even though Kunis and Timberlake have plenty of teen fans, this movie is for the adult crowd only! Common Sense says the film has partial nudity, swearing and a mature plotline, so it would probably be best to hire a babysitter if planning to see this R-rated raunch-fest. Click here for the full Common Sense review!

Watch the preview!

Captain America: The First Avenger
Short Story:
After being deemed unfit for military service in WWII, scrawny Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers for a top-secret experimental program that turns him into the well-muscled, red-white-and-blue-wearing fighting machine known as Captain America. As a superhero defending America, Steve battles Nazis, the villainous HYDRA corporation and his archnemesis the Red Skull (perennial movie bad guy Hugo Weaving).

What They're Saying:
"Evans, who played the Human Torch in two less-than-fantastic Fantastic Four films, brings such humor, heart and vigor to virtuous Steve that our rooting interest holds even when the action gets to be standard-issue." -- Rolling Stone

"It's paced and designed for people who won't shrivel up and die if two or three characters take 45 seconds between combat sequences to have a conversation about world domination, or a dame." -- Chicago Tribune

Good for Kids?
Comic-book fans and action-movie lovers will dig this movie -- but Common Sense tells parents that there are plenty of fight scenes and a PG-13 rating, so this one is best for teens and older. Click here for the full Common Sense review!

'Breaking Dawn' Star 'Like A Zombie' On Last Day Of Shooting

'She's gone; you're not putting these clothes back on,' Julia Jones recalls to MTV News of saying goodbye to her character, Leah.
By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz

Julia Jones
Photo: MTV News

After filming "Eclipse" and the two-part "Breaking Dawn," Julia Jones can call herself a "Twilight Saga" veteran. But that doesn't mean she found going to Comic-Con for the first time any less intimidating.

MTV News caught up with Jones in San Diego after the "Breaking Dawn" cast's packed Hall H panel. Unfortunately, her castmates hadn't given her much of a heads-up about the insanity of Comic-Con.

"We've been in front of a lot of people before but this is a new experience for me, Comic-Con," Jones said.

While her fellow castmembers had helped her prepare for the experience of doing fan events for "Eclipse," Jones said this time they figured she would get the hang of things. "Now I think they just don't pay attention: 'She's been here long enough, she'll figure it out.' "

In "Breaking Dawn - Part 1," Jones and the rest of the wolf pack are featured much more than they have been in previous installments, which gave the actress some room to expand on her character, Leah Clearwater. While Leah is characterized by her anger at Bella (Kristen Stewart) and the Cullens in "Eclipse," in "Breaking Dawn," fans will see that her rage has been tempered because a good portion of the story is told from werewolf Jacob Black's (Taylor Lautner) perspective.

"I was thrilled when I read [the script] because she really has the opportunity to kind of grow and she's not so angry anymore," Jones explained. "I felt relieved for her when I read that, oh, my gosh, she can actually express these things she hasn't expressed and go somewhere with it."

As for the last day of shooting the "Twilight" series, Jones admitted that she may have shed a few tears in her trailer when director Bill Condon shouted "Cut!" for the last time. The long shoot made it seem as if filming would never end, she explained, and that made saying goodbye that much harder.

"For me, personally, the last day, right when we wrapped, I didn't believe it. I hadn't even thought that that was possible. I just stood there like a zombie. People started hugging, like, 'You're wrapped, you're wrapped!' Like, 'Go, what are you doing? We need to move on,' " Jones said with a laugh. "I actually went back to my trailer and I was fine, I was a little in a daze. And I realized as I was taking my costume off that this is it. She's gone; you're not putting these clothes back on. And that was kind of a big thing for me."

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1."

Kristin Cavallari: Post-Breakup Bombshell

On the mend following the end of her engagement to Jay Cutler, Kristin Cavallari looks to be in good spirits as she was spotted out and about with friends and on the town in West Hollywood, California yesterday (July 29).

The former "Hills" hottie doesn't seem to be steering clear of the shutterbugs during this post-breakup time, smiling for the impending paps during an afternoon of shopping with two leggy gal pals before hitting up Tinseltown's night life at STK.

Meanwhile, Kristin has taken to her Twitter page to refute a story that reported her calling her ex-fiance a "loser" amongst other things for "faking a knee injury" injury during the NFC Championship game last season.

"Stop believing everything ur reading...not 1 thing has been accurate and I haven't commented AT ALL and jay hasn't either so its all bs." Cavallari wrote.

The 24-year-old continued, "I never said ANYTHING about jays knee injury," she tweeted. "I've always backed him 100%. Stop trying to start s---. I knw he was seriously hurt."

Lady Gaga: Amy Winehouse "Gave Me Hope"

Lady Gaga: Amy Winehouse "Gave Me Hope"

During a Los Angeles radio appearance on Thursday, Lady Gaga shared her thoughts on the passing of Amy Winehouse -- and told the emotional story behind her power ballad "The Edge of Glory."

"I didn't know Amy (Winehouse); I just loved her so much," Gaga told KIIS-FM's JoJo Wright. "I was such a huge fan, and I was a go-go dancer in New York when she was really big. So Amy gave me hope."

This account came days after Lady Gaga took to Twitter to express her grief and sadness after 27-year-old Winehouse died suddenly -- possibly from alcohol withdrawal -- in her London home on July 23. "Amy changed pop music forever, I remember knowing there was hope, and feeling not alone because of her. She lived jazz, she lived the blues," tweeted Gaga on July 24.

While on the radio, the singer also shared the powerful story of how her grandfather's death led her to write "The Edge of Glory." Watch her emotional retelling below.

"I had never experienced death before in my family -- it was my very first time," Gaga recalls. "And my grandmother and grandfather were married sixty years, and my grandmother was a virgin when she got married. So there was this purity between the two of them. And I just remember feeling so sad, and yet I knew that when he looked at her and she looked back -- even though he couldn't really move -- they both sort of acknowledged that they had won at life, because they won at love with each other."

When Gaga and her father returned home from their visit, they began doing tequila shots ("I've got that kind of relationship with my dad," she notes). While they were reminiscing and drinking, she sat down at the piano and wrote "The Edge of Glory."

"And my dad never really wrote music with me, but he was always kind of around the piano when I was a kid going, 'Yeah kid, that's good! That note right there, that's the one! That's the lyric right there!'" says Gaga. "So I was crying and he was crying and I was writing this song, and he was saying, 'That's it, that's it.' So for some reason, I felt like I was able to express what my dad couldn't express, which was what was so hard was [for my dad] to watch [my grandfather] be on the edge, to watch him cross over but not be there yet.”

In the process of making the "Edge of Glory" video, Gaga had to mourn the passing of another man close to her: saxophonist Clarence Clemons, who plays on the song.

"Clarence was on the video, and he and I became very close friends and I viewed him as a father figure in my life," she says. "And he died the day the music video came out."

"I'm just glad that Grandpa and Clarence are up in heaven together," Gaga says with a smile. And with Amy Winehouse up there too, there's bound to be some beautiful music in the clouds.

Chuckie Will Debut Michael Jackson Remix In Miami

Official 'Hollywood Tonight' remix coming to Miami Music Week.
By Akshay Bhansali

Leaving the South by Southwest festival, Lavo New York and Las Vegas' Marquee in his wake, house DJ Chuckie has his sights set on the week ahead. With Miami Music Week now upon us, Chuckie plans to seize the opportunity to debut new material. Fans will be tickled to know the Dutch producer has tracks in the can with Kelly Rowland and T-Pain, but when MTV News caught up with him Friday in New York, Chuckie shared the achievement of which he's most proud.

"I did a Michael Jackson remix, which was really scary — to touch Michael Jackson vocals," Chuckie said. "I did this remix for this track 'Hollywood Tonight.' I couldn't say it for a minute: The label called me, and they said, 'You can't say nothing about this. It's kind of a secret project.' It's gonna come out anytime now."

"Hollywood Tonight" was originally produced by Teddy Riley for Jackson's posthumous Michael album, and Chuckie's mix of the song will be the sole official remix of the track.

"I will play it Miami," Chuckie revealed. "I told them this is the best week to launch the remix. So it feels really good. I'm the only one remixing that Michael Jackson track, and they are considering it a single. For me, especially, it's an honor to remix the King of Pop because he died on my birthday."

So, will the mix be a thundering Chuckie Dutch house banger or will it have a melodic progressive house feel, like his Marquee remix of Diddy-Dirty Money's "I Hate That You Love Me"? Well, according to the "Let the Bass Kick" producer, fans will be getting a healthy dose of both.

"I had to bring in the raucous," Chuckie confessed. "Yeah, I did the Chuckie flavor, but then again, I wanted to make it really musical, so I went progressive (house) on it."

Chuckie will be performing twice at Miami Music Week: at the Cr2 Records Party at Wall Lounge on Wednesday, and then headlining "No Sugar Added" at Nikki Beach on Friday.

Are you excited to hear Chuckie's remix of Michael Jackson's "Hollywood Tonight"? Let us know in the comments below!

'Star Trek 2' Close To Locking In Director J.J. Abrams

Since finishing 'Super 8,' Abrams working on 'Trek 2' script.

Trekkies and J.J. Abrams fans alike can rejoice, for the "Super 8" director is at long last close to committing to helm "Star Trek 2." Now that Abrams can no longer use his stock answer — "The truth is that my focus has been so much on finishing 'Super 8' " — to avoid giving any "Star Trek 2" updates, Deadline has confirmed that he is working with the flick's writers and is close to committing to direct the sequel to his hit "Star Trek" reboot.

This must have been the "announcement" Abrams promised MTV News would be coming "soon" back at the "Super 8" premiere in June. But it also means that the film will miss its intended June 29, 2012, release date.

That's good news for "G.I. Joe: Cobra Rises," though, which Deadline is calling "G.I. Joe: Retaliation." The entertainment news site has learned that Paramount is planning on giving the June release date to the "G.I. Joe" sequel and slating "Star Trek 2" for either winter 2012 or summer 2013.

Either way, Paramount has agreed to be ready to jump into production on the flick whenever Abrams is. Abrams is now sitting down with writers Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman to polish up the "Star Trek 2" script, which Deadline is guessing will begin production in January.

MTV News caught up with Damon Lindelof at San Diego Comic-Con, where he chatted about the current status of the script. "There was a lot of work going on over the course of the last year between Bob [Orci] and Alex [Kurtzman] and I," Lindelof said. "We generated, like, a 90-page half-script half-treatment based on some meetings that we've had with J.J. [Abrams]. Now that J.J. is finally finished with 'Super 8,' we've kind of, not thrown out that material, but we're reworking a lot of it."

He added that the final product of the script will hopefully improve upon the sequel the same way "Batman Begins" improved upon "The Dark Knight." " 'Trek 2' has to be better than 'Trek 1,' " Lindelof said. "It has to."

'Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes' Stars Give Apes Top Billing

Tom Felton, James Franco and other castmembers say come for the apes, stay for the story ... or just the apes.

HOLLYWOOD — There is enough intrigue, presumed destruction and primate shenanigans in the trailers for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" to entice more than just the fans of the 1968 original into theaters when the film opens next week. But when MTV News caught up with the principal castmembers at the Hollywood premiere on Thursday, we asked them to sell us on a few more of the film's must-see elements, aside from their furry co-stars. Basically, if people come to see the apes, what will make them stay?

"Wow, James [Franco], Freida [Pinto], Andy [Serkis], everyone else," Tom Felton said, speaking to his co-stars' appeal. "There is a mixture of CGI and special effects that we've never seen onscreen before, along with a strong story and a strong message: Humans can't play God too much. We should not overstep our boundaries when it comes to manipulating Mother Nature."

Pinto countered that it's all about the apes. "I think this is one of few films that really give them a voice as well," she said. "Of course, 'Planet of the Apes' did as well, but 'Rise of the Planet of the Apes' gives them a voice in a very revolutionary way."

One of the prominent primate voices heard is that of Caesar, played by seasoned motion-capture performer Andy Serkis, who, according to Franco, is the main reason why the film is any good.

"The apes, I think Andy Serkis and WETA should get top billing," Franco said. "They stole the show; they're incredible."

Actor John Lithgow, who plays the father of Franco's character, was the only one who thought folks will start out loving the apes and leave loving the humans.

"They [will] stay for the people, and the extent to which the apes become people," he said. "It's a story, it's a great story, that's why they stay."

Selena Gomez's Boca Raton Show Brings Out Bieber

Taking the stage for her We Own the Night Tour, Selena Gomez performed a sold-out show in Boca Raton, Florida on Thursday night (July 28).

Held at Mizner Park Amphitheatre, the "Who Says" singer belted out all of her hit tunes as the audience gleefully danced and sang along.

Among those on-hand for Selena's sunshine state show was a very special guest, as Justin Bieber turned up to support his lady during her kickoff gig.

Having tweeted "Good to be back in Canada" earlier in the day, Bieber apparently was hoping to throw people off track - as he was photographed leaving the venue surrounded by bodyguards upon show's end.

Upset over the "Baby" hitmaker's misguiding tweet, one fan posted a message reading, ?Justin Bieber is a liar! He tweeted that he is in Canada and I just saw him in south florida leaving the studio with Selena Gomez."

As for Gomez's upcoming schedule, the 19-year-old will take the stage at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater, FL on Saturday night (July 30) before heading to St. Augustine, FL for another performance the following night.

Dimmu Borgir Release Live DVD; Plus Led Zeppelin, Brujeria, & More News That Rules, In Metal File

'It shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums,' guitarist says.
By Chris Harris

On October 14, Dimmu Borgir — who just happen to be Demi Lovato's favorite black-metal band — will release a a three-disc DVD/CD set called "The Invaluable Darkness," the band's first visual offering since 2002's "World Misanthropy." Boasting live footage shot last year, during gigs in Norway, Germany and England, "The Invaluable Darkness" demonstrates the unbridled furor of seeing Dimmu live, guitarist Silenoz said.

"It shows the honest rawness and atmospheric darkness of our concerts," the Norwegian told Metal File last week, after dismissing recent online rumors that his band's next LP would be coming out through Roadrunner Records. "Basically, it shows the intense live side of the band, as opposed to the perfection and the cleanness of how we sound on our albums. It's just a different side to the band, basically."

Dimmu Borgir began thinking about "The Invaluable Darkness" two years ago, but didn't start capturing footage until last summer, Silenoz explained, adding that the band will use its current stint on the Blackest of the Black Tour — which got underway Thursday night in Miami Beach, Florida, and also features the tour's founder, Danzig, along with Moonspell, Winds of Plague and Skeletonwitch — to promote the DVD. Dimmu Borgir will not, however, use the tour to write material for their next LP.

"It's our first time on Blackest, but Glenn [Danzig] had wanted to bring us out before [on the tour], but we weren't available until now," Silenoz said. "We've done Ozzfest before, but we're looking forward to this tour more. We did the main stage on Ozzfest, playing in f--_ing broad daylight. This tour will let us play in bigger places, but at the same time showcase more of what the band's about, visually. We are going to concentrate on the tour for now. Some years ago, we tried putting [material] together on the road, but once we got home, we listened back to it, and were like, 'What the f--- is this?' So, we just scrapped it all. We find it's so much better to totally focus on one thing at a time, and then, when that's over, you move on to the next [thing]. We don't really feel like we need to rush things, anyway, so we'll just take our time, and it's going to be what it's going to be."

Dimmu Borgir hope to reconvene in late December to begin writing the follow-up to 2007's diabolically titled In Sorte Diaboli. "We have some ideas floating around already, but we haven't arranged any material yet," he said. "We'll start doing that once the touring for this DVD is over." The band's frontman, Shagrath, is also due to marry soon — he's engaged to actor Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, so that may have an effect on when Dimmu finish their next album, which Silenoz said could be out this coming spring.

"I'm sure [Shagrath] won't let anything get in the way [of] the band — I think, I hope," the guitarist said. "We don't need a Yoko [Ono] situation."

While Dimmu have been at it going on 15 years now, Silenoz said he doesn't think their forthcoming material will be much of a departure from their previous black-metal offerings.

"And we have always been about more than just that term, 'black metal,' " he said. "Luckily for us, the older you get, the less concerned you get with the categorization and putting labels on your music. Things start getting more and more limitless with us, and we know that we operate within certain frames. But we try not to analyze things too much, because it's just going to be working against you in the end. When we write new stuff, we don't think about what we should write — we just get together, and put material together, and if we like it, we keep it. That's the formula, if we even have a formula."

Dimmu Borgir are definitely getting older — guitarist Galder will be missing Blackest because of a recent addition to his family, and Susperia's Cyrus will be filling in for him; while former Vader drummer Dariusz Brzozowski takes over for Hellhammer, who had to leave the band in 2007 after sustaining a neck injury that's now limited the use of his right arm. As Dimmu has gotten on in years, Silenoz admits they have failed to keep pace with some of the more extreme black-metal acts that have followed in their wake.

"We helped open doors for the more extreme bands out there," Silenoz said. "I'm sure we helped open doors for bands like Watain, [insomuch as] people that had maybe started listening to us first then went on to the more extreme stuff. Let's face it — we're not as extreme as Watain and other bands like that, but we're fine with that."

The Blackest of the Black Tour continues through November 10 in San Francisco.

The rest of the week's metal news:

Dimmu's tourmates on Blackest, Winds of Plague, have announced ex-Azusa drummer Art Cruz has joined their ranks — he replaced Jeff Tenney. According to the band's blog, "Art has already added a new spark to the band and has provided us with a solid backbone that will allow us to continue our rampage stronger than ever." ...

What the world really needs is another Led Zeppelin box set, so, on November 4, Rhino Records will issue the Led Zeppelin Definitive Collection Mini LP Replica CD box set. For just $200, you'll get 1969's Led Zeppelin, 1969's Led Zeppelin II, 1970's Led Zeppelin III, 1971's Led Zeppelin IV, 1973's Houses of the Holy, 1975's Physical Graffiti, 1976's Presence, 1976's The Song Remains the Same, 1979's In Through the Out Door and 1982's Coda, as mini-LP replicas, with artwork from the original U.K. LP sleeves. Now, you know what you can get your dad for Christmas. ...

Former Killswitch Engage frontman Jesse Leach and current Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz have teamed up for a new project they're calling Times of Grace, and they've already started working on material for their debut album. According to Leach, "We have two songs to go and we will be finished with all of the vocals. Adam has taken lead vocals in three songs as of yet and he is doing a great job. We also worked on a track yesterday that is so epic — we trade vocals and do two different melodies at the same time. This album went from a melodic metal album to an epic mix of metal/rock/pop/shoegaze and punk. So all of your metal expectations will be incorrect — we are pushing genre boundaries." To quote "Meet the Parents," we'll look forward to that, Greg. ...

The Funeral Pyre and Early Graves will be hitting the road together next month, starting November 7 in South Lake Tahoe, California. Dates are booked through November 21 in Hollywood. ...

The latest incarnation of Brujeria, which features Carcass frontman Jeff Walker and Napalm Death's Shane Embury, have lined up several U.S. dates for this winter. The band will begin its brief trek November 28 in Denver, and wrap things up in Dallas on December 7. ... Demiricous will be touring with the Gates of Slumber starting November 9 in Denver, for a jaunt that's scheduled to run through December 6 in Indianapolis. ...

Nearly three years after Roadrunner Records' Roadrunner United concert, which took over the Nokia Theater in New York's Times Square, the label is now releasing footage from that special night as "Roadrunner United: The Concert." The DVD, which hits stores December 9, will boast two discs and 24 live tracks, including Life of Agony's "River Runs Red," King Diamond's "Abigail," Killswitch's "My Last Serenade," Type O Negative's "Black No. 1" and Sepultura's "Refuse/Resist." ...

According to Blabbermouth, Verrot, bassist for Swedish black-metal outfit Elimi, committed suicide on October 3. In a statement, the band said, "Verrot was a very good friend, brother, an excellent bass player/musician and an important part of Elimi; we respect his decision and hope he'll find his way with the dark gods of Chaos. Let your black flame be a part of what brings forth the day of wrath."

'Breaking Dawn' Cast Was 'Crying A Lot' Filming Finale

'Twilight' actresses Nikki Reed and Elizabeth Reaser joke that Robert Pattinson is 'probably a mess.'

After five years and four films together, it's natural to assume the cast of the hugely popular "Twilight" franchise became emotional when they finished filming both halves of the "Breaking Dawn" finale. According to the cast, they needed plenty of tissues.

"We were crying a lot," Nikki Reed said during MTV News' Comic-Con 2011 "Takeover" live stream event.

Co-star Elizabeth Reaser agreed: "The last day of filming definitely was emotional because Peter Facinelli and I wrapped at the exact same moment. ... It was Facinelli, Ashley [Greene], Kellan [Lutz], Jackson [Rathbone] and myself, and we were up in Squamish [British Colombia] just doing stunts and night shoots, and then they finally wrapped Peter and I," she recalled. "We were just completely shocked and hugging, and then we went out and we had a little meal together.

"It was surreal," Reaser continued. "It was nice that I got to finish with Peter, since he's my show husband — forever."

So, who was the most emotional castmember? "Rob [Pattinson]'s probably a mess after ending this," Reed said with a smile.

"Rob cried a lot, actually," Reaser added.

"He shaved his head over it," Reed joked, making light of Pattinson's curious new coiffure. "He was crying so hard he had to cut all of his hair. ... A therapist should be called," she teased.

Getting away from the crying and emoting for a moment, we asked Reed and Reaser what scenes they're most looking forward to seeing in the finished films.

"There's actually some freaky, weird scenes that I want to see," Reaser said. "I want to see the freaky birth," she revealed, "and there's all kinds of weird, crazy, strange, scary, beautiful stuff in this movie."

Reed said she wants to see "all of it." "I want a freaky, weird wedding," she added, before getting serious about her character's emotional evolution in the final two films: "I was really nervous about the relationship between Rosalie and Bella. This was a very specific dynamic, and I wanted to make sure that it felt like the transition happened naturally and organically," she explained. "I'm nervous about seeing all of it. I'm a nervous wreck about all of these movies."
