Madonna Apologizes to Hydrangeas in Hilarious Video

Madonna Apologizes to Hydrangeas in Hilarious Video

Madonna's relationship with flowers is more complicated than we ever knew! Last week at a Venice Film Festival press conference, the Material Girl scoffed at a gift of hydrangeas from a fan ("I absolutely loathe hydrangeas," she said) without realizing that her microphone was on.

The video went viral, prompting this new video response from Madonna herself: a "love letter to hydrangeas." Watch below!

In the silly silent movie, Madonna sobs over a hydrangea bloom like the one she insulted in Venice.

"You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you," she cries via subtitle. "Words cannot express how sorry I am. To think I may have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me.

"If I could take back my words I would but I can't, so what am I left with?" she asks. Then after a pause, she realizes that perhaps she doesn't want to take back her insult. "I'm left with the fact that I still hate hydrangeas!" she screams, throwing the flowers on the floor and stomping on them. "And I will always hate them! It's a free country! So f*** you, I like roses!"

You can even see Madonna breaking into a smile as she kicks the bouquet out of frame.

Madonna's rep tells Us Weekly that "the hydrangea incident is so ridiculous," the pop legend couldn't help but make fun of it. We love it, but we do wish she'd set it to music instead of making a film. "I Still Hate Hydrangeas" would be good material for the next album, don't you think?
