Evan Rachel Wood is looking for love -- and, as it turns out, she's taking applications from boys and girls. The 23-year-old actress, appearing this month in the HBO movie Mildred Pierce and the Abraham Lincoln assassination theatrical release The Conspirator, has revealed to Esquire that she's bisexual. And while many female celebs claim a theoretical attraction to women, Wood says she's actually playing the field.
"I'm more kind of like the guy when it comes to girls. I'm the dominant one," Wood confesses. "I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."
Though Wood says she'd like to "marry" her Mildred Pierce costar Kate Winslet (who, recently gave her some helpful nude-scene advice), that probably wouldn't raise as many eyebrows as her last relationship: an on-again, off-again romance with 42-year-old shock rocker Marilyn Manson. Wood says that part of the attraction was Manson's androgynous image.
"I grew up in love with David Bowie," she says. "So I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls... I'm into androgyny in general."
This fall, Wood stars in the George Clooney-directed political drama The Ides of March, which she, Clooney and Ryan Gosling have spent the past few months shooting in America's heartland -- but Wood plans to settle down later this year in New York City. And she hopes that love will find her in the Big Apple.
"I'm up for anything," Wood muses. "Meet a nice guy, meet a nice girl."
Nicer than Marilyn Manson? That shouldn't be hard, right?
